Pacific Wood Laminates, Inc. CLEAR LAMŽ V-Rustic siding will be free of manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship and will not delaminate due to faulty manufacturing for a period of 10 years from the date of manufacture under normal conditions of use and exposure providing the product is properly stored, installed, finished, and maintained according to Pacific Wood Laminates, Inc. INSTALLATION AND HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS.
When installed, CLEAR LAMŽ V-Rustic siding must be promptly painted using an appropriate quality paint from a major national paint manufacturer (see FINISHING for paint specifications). The paint must be applied and maintained (including repainting as needed to avoid any exposure of the wood to the elements) to the manufacturer's specifications.
CLEAR LAMŽ V-Rustic Siding is primed using a water based acrylic primer. Pacific Wood Laminates, Inc. warrants the primer for a one (1) year period from the date of installation against blistering and peeling under normal conditions and exposure provided that: (a) Pacific Wood Laminates, Inc. INSTALLATION AND HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS are strictly adhered to, (b) two coats of an unthinned 100% acrylic exterior topcoat that is intended for wood siding is applied within 60 days after installation, (c) topcoat is applied when the substrate's moisture content is 12% or less (O.D. basis) and no free water is present, and (d) manufacturer's recommendations regarding weather conditions are adhered to. Pacific Wood Laminates, Inc. does not warrant the primed surface for peeling, blistering, or mildew problems resulting from the breakdown of any topcoat paint film.
NOTE: AFTER THIS PRODUCT HAS EQUALIZED TO LOCAL AMBIENT CONDITIONS, SOME DEGREE OF RAISED GRAIN MAY BE EVIDENT THROUGH THE MDO SURFACE. THIS APPEARANCE MAY BE ESPECIALLY EVIDENT IN THE AREAS ADJACENT TO THE PRODUCT'S FINGERJOINT AND NAIL HOLES. GRAIN RAISE IS NOT A PRODUCT DEFECT.
NOTICE OF CLAIMS
All claims should be submitted in writing to the installer who must be afforded a reasonable opportunity to take corrective actions or to notify responsible parties. If a claim is not resolved within 30 days after notice to the installer, written notice should be given to Pacific Wood Laminates, Inc., P. O. Box 820, Brookings, Oregon 97415. Pacific Wood Laminates, Inc. must be given a reasonable opportunity to investigate before corrective action is taken.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
This limited warranty does not cover: (1) colorfastness, (2) damage from physical forces such as impact, abrasion, abuse, (3) damage from prolonged contact with water due to failure to maintain caulking, finish coatings, or other improper installations or construction, (4) performance of field applied finishes, (5) mildew, (6) performance of any product outside of the U. S. and Canada, (7) edge checking, (8) grain raise (9) uses other than non-structural siding applications, (10) damage resulting in whole or in part from a failure to strictly comply with Pacific Wood Laminates, Inc.'s storage, handling, installation, and maintenance instruction.
PACIFIC WOOD LAMINATES, INC. MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND NOT APPEARING HEREIN.
PACIFIC WOOD LAMINATES, INC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO BUYER OR ANY THIRD PERSON FOR LOSS OF PROFITS OR FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM ANY DEFECT IN THE CLEAR LAMŽ. PACIFIC WOOD LAMINATES, INC.'S SOLE OBLIGATION SHALL BE TO PROVIDE REASONABLE ASSISTANCE FOR THE REPAIR OF THE NONCONFORMING GOODS OR, AT ITS ELECTION, REFUND THE COST OF THE MATERIAL AS OF THE DATE OF THE CLAIM.
