Non-overlaid plyform is usually made with B grade veneer face and back. The panels are sanded on both sides and treated with a release agent at the mill.

During plywood production, overlays are bonded to the plywood. MDO form panels create a matte or flat finish on the concrete surface, whereas HDO imparts a nearly polished concrete surface.
