FRP, fiberglass reinforced plastic, is a composite made from
fiberglass reinforcement in a plastic (polymer) matrix.
Tests for bacteria and mold growth indicate that FRP does not support the growth of either.
An embossed finish has the added benefit of providing a more scuff resistant surface than smooth. FRP finishes meet USDA/FIS requirements for sanitary finishes.

Hardboard is a high quality panel manufactured from specially engineered fibers that are compressed under heat and pressure. These panels are produced by a "wet" or "dry" process. The "wet" process produces panels that have one smooth side and a screen back designated "S1S". The "dry" manufacturing process produces a panel that is smooth on both sides, or "S2S".
Tempered hardboard is impregnated with a special oil which is polymerized by heat treatment. It is particularly suitable in applications where there is a need for extra water resistance, surface hardness, rigidity, bending and tensile strength. Tempered panels are marked with 1 Red stripe.

FLOOR UNDERLAYMENT PARTICLEBOARD
This product is a medium density wood panel engineered specifically for use as a base for floor coverings. It is not designed for demanding industrial applications where strength, edge tightness or surface smoothness characteristics are critical.

MDF is manufactured from a wood fiber - resin combination that is formed into a mat of random fiber orientation, then hot pressed and finished. Particleboard, which is fabricated from particles of wood, has a relatively rough surface best suited for use as an underlayment for veneers, laminates, etc. MDF, on the other hand, is fabricated from fibers of wood resulting in a smooth surface comparable to wood. MDF provides a superior surface for today's high tech finishes including lacquers, foils, thin paper laminates and other popular coatings. It has excellent machinability characteristics resulting in clean, sharp edges in cutting and drilling operations. It is a panel with high strength lending itself to fabrication with a wide variety of fasteners including screws and staples.
